This <a href=\"http:\/\/worldfocus.org\/blog\/2009\/01\/28\/how-the-us-measures-up-to-canadas-health-care-system\/3783\/#comments\">interview<\/a> with Princeton professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princeton.edu\/~reinhard\/\">Uwe Reinhardt<\/a>, a top American expert on health care economics, explains in a way that I&#8217;ve not heard before in the same detail just why the administrative costs are so high in the United States and why a national health care system could easily save enough money to bring affordable universal health care to everyone in the US. And managing all of this is a staff of 12 people doing the billing, the administration. Now think about this. When you deal with that many insurers you have to negotiate rates with each of them. In<\/span><\/em><\/span> <span style=\"padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #980216;\">Baltimore,<\/span><\/em><\/span> <span style=\"padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #980216;\">they are lucky. They have rate regulations, so they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to do it.
